Yet, the decision on when to sit for your first SAT exam is context-dependent, and arriving at the correct answer for you involves considering a number of relevant factors. However, the numbers are far more encouraging for those who study than those who do not, and this does not necessary mean paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for one-on-one tutoring or fancy SAT classes. In fact, a study released this year by the College Board found that just 20 hours of targeted practice through Khan Academy (which is completely free) resulted in an average score gain of 115 points.If you are able to car ve out sufficient time to study for the test in the summer after your sophomore year, and you are acing practice tests by August, then you may be ready for a fall SAT sitting. If you need more time (Christmas break, spring break, etc.), then waiting until the spring may be more advantageous.Take advantage of SuperscoringMost American colleges â€Å"Superscore† the SAT (for a complete list  click here). This means that they will take your highest reading and math scores from across multiple test administrations. This policy grants a major edge to those who take the test multiple times. Night and Dawn - A Comparison of Elie Wisels writings

Night and Dawn Night and Dawn, both written by Elie Wiesel, are two books that have changed the way people view life and death. Night is a story of the Holocaust that occurs in the time frame of the mid-1900s. Elie, the author and the main character of Night, tells of the horrific years he spent in Germanys concentration camps. During this time period, millions of Jewish people were shot by merciless Nazis. Dawn focuses on a young boy Elisha who is recruited into a terrorist organization after the Holocaust. He eventually finds himself caught in the middle of the war between the Jewish and the British fighting for freedom. Both of Wiesels stories involve poignant emotions. Night shows the reader the horror of being murdered. Similarly,†¦show more content†¦Wiesel wrote Night in an attempt to leave the reader feeling as if he were a Jewish citizen during the time of the Holocaust. The author achieves this through his vivid descriptions and emotional family affairs, such as the time where El ie is separated from his family. When connecting with a character, one understands the characters dilemmas, such as Elies questioning of his religious faith. In Dawn, Wiesels purpose was to make the reader see through the eyes of a murderer, and the difficulty of murdering without a reason in which he believes. Elisha struggles because he cannot find the answer to the question within himself: Why am I killing Captain Dawson? Both stories try to make the reader empathize with the main character. Both Elie and Elisha have a difficult time living in Night and Dawn. The author exaggerates this in Dawn by using the phrase Poor boy! to describe Elisha. In Night, the author tried to gain sympathy for Elie by putting him into painful situations. One event that represents this was the time where Elie was whipped by a Kapo, He took his time between each stroke. Only the first ones really hurt me. I could hear him counting (55). The organizational policy of the company allows the department some freedom as the department often has to interact with employees from different departments of the organization and the staffs from all departments come to seek help with their HR related issues and investigation has to be conducted for the mitigation of the problem. Therefore the organizational control of the company over the HR department is quite lax in the sense the other departments are controlled separately by the managers. Proposed recommendations for service improvement The financial resources of the company are not being spent in a proper way to staff and supply the department of human resources. Therefore, better management of the resources is necessary for the department to make it more efficient in the operations Recruitment policy (1989 SHRM training/retraining survey, 1989). Responsiveness of the department is quite fast for the limited resources of the department but there could be improvements made in the sector as the staffs are juggling many responsibilities so there would be a slight delay in the allocation of the duty and thus in the implementation of the solution (The SHRM learning system, 2009). Communications of the department need to be more visible and transparent where the concerns of the staffs need to be considered before the notices of means to approach the HR are made clear. This will facilitate better contact with the employees and thus the effectiveness of the HR department will increase (McGovern, 2002). Follow up and support is also an area where the department can do better with more staff. The follow up of the current department is nonexistent it is often seen that issues are arising after the solutions to the problems has been implemented. This will improve the performance level of the department as the assurance of success will be embedded in the promise of follow up queries made by the department (Chanda Shen, 2009). Conclusion To conclude we can say that this report outlines the weakness of the HR department of the organization and the solutions to make the department more effective.
